Art 35: Web Design

This web site is designed as a landing page for my class at COS called Art 35 - Web Design. This course is an introductory class in website design using state of art software included in Adobe's Creative Suite. Keep in mind, this is a beginning web design class, therefore I am not a professional web page developer.

Currently, I have decided to enroll at COS and engage in classes in the Computer Science department and earn a certificate. I want to develop my own commercial sites and publish them online. I have created several web pages in the past but I have recently decided to pursue other avenues in IT and web technology and eventually develop my own business and be able to control all the aspects of the venture.

Class Lessons

Below is a table I have created for the lessons we have completed in our class. The lessons are designed to teach the principal fundamentals of web design utilizing Macromedia's Dreamweaver 8 software. I would highly recommend learning Dreamweaver in order to design and create quality wepages.

Class Project

Below is a link to my class project for Art 35 - Web Design. In this project, I have basically utilized a pre-existing CSS Style Sheet which was included in the Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 software. The layout and design for my website was slightly modified according to my preferences and will be customized for upload to a domain when I am finished. The website is not even close to being complete at this time due to the fact that this is only one page in the website. I am still working on the content needed for multiple pages including the main home page while developing the layout.

Adobe's Creative Suite 3

After working with Macromedia's Dreamweaver 8 software, I decided to upgrade my software to Adobe's Creative Suite 3 Master Collection. This package includes all the software required for web design, graphics design, video and photo editing. It is really a complete solution for print, web, mobile, interactive, film and video production. If your interested, you can check out Adobe's Creative Suite 3 collections and download trial versions for just about all the programs. I have included links to Adobe's Creative Suite 3.
